My name is Rachel Bermingham and I come from a small village in the South East of Ireland in county Wicklow. I am so excited to be joining the Year 1 team in Safa next Year!
As a typical Irish person, I love playing GAA and I currently play with Sharjah Gaels. I love to keep fit during the week so along with football training, I love to run and go to the gym. I am currently training for a half marathon but it has proven to be very difficult in Dubai with the heat! I love finding new places to run, especially in Dubai where there are many hidden gems with amazing views.
I have been teaching Year 3 in Dubai for the last two years in a large 15 form school. It will be a new journey teaching in KS1 and I am very much looking forward to a change.
I attended Dublin City University where I studied for four years to become a primary teacher. I graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Education degree.
I accepted my first teaching job shortly after graduating in a mixed school in county Dublin. I loved teaching here but wanted to fulfil my dreams of living abroad. I then decided to make the move to Dubai in August 2022.
