- This award is for a 3-year period (Years 7-9)
- It is open to existing and new students
- Students must be starting Year 7 in September 2025
- This award is for a 2-year period (Years 10-11)
- It is open to existing and new students
- Students must be starting Year 10 in September 2025
- This award is for a 2-year period (Years 10-11)
- It is open to existing and new students
- Students must be starting Year 12 in September 2025
- To apply for a Sporting Excellence scholarship, it would be expected for students to be performing at a recognised National Level, either in the UAE or in their home Country
- Applications for the Sporting Excellence scholarship are also based upon 3 entry points; Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
Academic Excellence
Academic scholarships will be awarded to students on the basis of proven academic achievement and a competitive application process.Thresholds for Academic Excellence, include but are not limited to:
UAE National Agenda Tests
- GL CAT4 Test – Mean score above 126
- GL Progress Test – Scores at Stanine 9
Last 2 Years School Reports
Performance in core subjects being above curriculum expectations.
Estimated Forecasts of GCSE Results (KS5)
For students applying for the Key Stage 5 scholarship, applications must include estimated forecasts of GCSE results. All offers will be conditional upon submitting GCSE certificates in August 2024, with performance at Grade 7 and above.

- Students in Years 6 and 9 who meet the scholarship criteria will be invited to apply for the Scholarship Programme
- Completion of the Safa Scholarship application form
- Uploading of
- Recent CAT 4 report (dated within 12 months)
- Progress Test report (dated within 12 months)
- Recent school reports (Covering last academic year)
- Students will complete a scholarship assessment at Safa British School
- Timelines: external applications will be assessed on an on-going basis
- Scholarship applicants must gain a place at SBS through the normal assessment route
- All decisions for scholarships will be made by the school’s governing body
- A written acceptance of a scholarship offer must be made within ten days
- Students whose fees are paid for by a source other than parents, such as company allowance, are only eligible to receive a discount that reflects the proportion of fees that is directly borne by parents; and not that which is paid from a company fund or allowance.
