Frequently Asked Questions

If a family of an internal candidate receives an invite to apply, will they be successful?

No – there are a limited number of scholarships on offer, and it is not feasible for every application to be successful. For a student to receive an invitation to apply, this is an acknowledgment of their high performance, and should be celebrated.  The decision to award a scholarship, will be based upon the historical performance and taking into account their performance in the scholarship assessment.

What are the values of the awards?

The awards are based upon our KHDA agreed fees.  We are looking at two tiers of award:

  • The ‘Full Scholars Award’ – 50% off the fees for the duration of the award
  • A ‘Partial Scholars Award’ – 30% off the fees for the duration of the award
What is the decision-making process?

There will be no ‘student interview panel’.  We are not looking to reward ‘good intentions’ or a student’s interview strengths, but rather these awards are aimed at recognising established academic excellence, based upon prior performance and performance in the scholarship assessment.

All offers of financial scholarships are made at the discretion of the school’s governing board.

If my child was unsuccessful on this occasion, are they eligible to apply again in the future?

Yes. We see the Scholarship program as an intrinsic part of the school’s growth, and we also recognize that student talents and abilities can grow over time.

Will the successful students be identified?

Yes.We believe in the importance of transparency.  All ‘Scholars’ will be recognized and celebrated on the school’s website, with updates on their successes during their journey at Safa British school.
