Being the daughter of a headteacher, Louise grew up surrounded by education. After briefly considering other career paths, she decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and pursued a job in teaching (as did her three siblings). After spending some time in Glasgow, and then a short period in India, Louise decided to move to the UAE where she quickly developed a love for international education and the opportunities and experiences it creates for young learners.
With a Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of Glasgow and NPQSL, Louise has worked in primary schools for 12 years. She has been a member of the Safa British School team since 2014, spending most of this time on the senior leadership team and currently the Head of Primary. Louise has led a range of core subjects, teaching and learning, as well as developing and implementing an award-winning curriculum based around the sustainable development goals. She believes in using the curriculum to foster child-centred experiences, creativity, and wellbeing, which will allow them to become confident and caring individuals who are life-long learners.
