Throughout the years, I have been fortunate enough to witness several unforgettable moments from the exhilarating realization of a student that their idea will indeed succeed, to achieving an undefeated record during a Rugby tour of the northern hemisphere. Leading students through the vast Australian alpine plains on a challenging 21-day expedition has been particularly rewarding. Additionally, watching students conquer challenging sections of a downhill mountain bike track has been gratifying. However, the most cherished experience of all is the shared reflection during circle time around a campfire, where students discuss the day’s adventures and accomplishments.

About Me

I have a deep appreciation for the outdoor lifestyle and the sense of wonder it brings. I enjoy cycling, whether it’s navigating gravel paths, speeding along open roads, or tackling mountain trails. Each ride offers its unique thrills. Sports play a significant role in my life, and I am deeply passionate about a range of activities including rugby, AFL, cricket, golf, and skiing, as well as water sports like paddleboarding and attempting to surf! Engaging in these pursuits brings me immense joy and fulfilment.

My Experience

As an enthusiastic educator with a passion for Design Technology, my journey has spanned countries and cultures. From the lush hillsides of the UK’s Lake District to bustling cities in Australia, through the wilderness of Tasmania, returning westward in the jungles of Malaysia and now amongst the deserts of UAE. My path weaves through industrial, academic, and pastoral experiences. As a Furniture Designer Maker, I discovered the captivating blend of aesthetics and functionality. Eager to open doors for others, I transitioned into teaching. In classrooms, I celebrate the students’ curiosity, instilling wonder and passion for design. Beyond the classroom, my roles as a Boarding Tutor and Head of Boarding have allowed me to create safe and enriching 24/7 environments. Along with coaching sports—Rugby, Touch Football, or Mountain Biking—or leading Outdoor Education camps, I’ve witnessed the transformative power of experiential learning.
