Hello there! My name is Genna Hellier, and I’m very excited to join Safa British School as your Drama teacher this year. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my two lovely daughters. We enjoy playing games, reading, and singing. I also have a big passion for sports and travel and have visited over 60 countries! Some of my favorite trips have been with students on outdoor adventures and rock climbing expeditions.
I can’t wait to meet you all and start our fun and creative learning journey together!
I have been teaching for over 18 years and have had the chance to work in some amazing places like the UAE, Switzerland, Japan, and the U.K. Before becoming a teacher, I performed as an actress and singer in a number of amateur and professional shows. I still sing with my dad in his band whenever I go home; he can’t escape me!
I am from a small seaside town in the south of England called Eastbourne. It is very pretty and green, and I make sure to go back to see my family and friends as often as I can.
In my classroom, I love creating a positive and safe space where you can grow and learn. I enjoy making lessons fun and interesting, so you can really engage with what we’re doing. I am especially passionate about developing your love for drama. I want to help you build confidence and enthusiasm, and support you as you develop drama skills. My goal is to help you achieve your best and enjoy learning every day.
I believe in giving lots of positive feedback and encouragement to help you feel proud of your progress. Whether you are just starting out as an actor or already participating in Drama classes outside of school, I will make sure you feel included and encouraged. For those who are very enthusiastic, we can even showcase your learning to celebrate your achievements!
