Having always had a great passion for music, which was supported and encouraged by some inspiring Music teachers when I was in school, I decided to pursue a degree in Music Education at Trinity College Dublin. After graduating in 2017, I moved to the UK where I taught at an independent boarding school for a year, before receiving an opportunity to teach in Dubai. I have taught in a large British international school in Dubai with approximately 6000 students for the last four years, initially joining as a Secondary Music Teacher, and later becoming Head of Music in 2020. During this time, I have overseen the opening of both our GCSE and A Level Music programmes, as well as expanding the extracurricular music opportunities for our students.
I was born and raised in Co. Wicklow, Ireland, before making the move to the UK, and later Dubai. I have been living in Dubai for the last four years. I have a real passion for musical theatre, and love going to shows (and participating in them, when the occasion arises!). I love travelling and exploring new countries and cultures. I have enjoyed travelling around the UAE over the last four years and finding little hidden gems, and with the world beginning to open up again, I hope to expand my travels and add a few more stamps to my passport!
BMusEd (Music Education)
As a Music teacher, some of my best moments in teaching have come from the competitions, concerts and shows that we have put on at school. Watching the students grow in confidence rehearsal after rehearsal, as well as the realisation of what they have achieved by the end of a performance is always a very special moment for me.
