The best part about being a PE teacher are the extra-curriculars and fixtures you experience. My favourite memory so far was a road trip with my Y8 Boys Basketball team to the quarter finals of the Jr NBA. The pride, competitiveness and rapport with the students is why we become PE teachers.
Growing up in Nottingham, England I have always been an active person, playing Basketball since I was a child. I started representing my country in Basketball from the age of 12 to 17 years old. Whilst getting involved in officiating and coaching during my time playing. This helped me grow my love and passion for sport and PE.
Graduating from Sheffield Hallam University demonstrated what an engaging Physical Education Curriculum is. Through providing knowledge, innovation and differentiation across all aspects of PE.
My journey progressed onto my PGCE where I put my degree into practice and enhanced my knowledge across the PE curriculum through gaining experience in GCSE, A LEVEL and Cambridge National. My first teaching job started in the East Midlands, providing me with the opportunity to create and run a successful Basketball program across all age groups. Alongside Netball, Trampolining, Athletics and Fitness extra-curricular and fixtures. I enjoying being active through fitness and exploring the outdoors. One of my biggest achievements is running 5K for 33 days straight, raising money for a charity close to my heart. I am excited to explore the adventurous activities Dubai has to offer and the potential to join a basketball team.
