My name is Vicki Purcell, and I am thrilled to be starting my journey at Safa British School this year. I have been living and working in Dubai for two years now, and I am eagerly looking forward to providing active and engaging learning experiences for my Year 1 class next year.
Originally from County Cork in the south of Ireland, I moved to Dubai to expand my teaching experience and fuel my love for travel. “The me you can’t see” is definitely an explorer, and you can be sure I will be off exploring different parts of the world during each school break. So far, my top three destinations have been Kenya, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
In 2017, I graduated with first-class honors in the Bachelor of Education from Mary Immaculate College in Limerick. Since then, I have worked as both an inclusion and classroom teacher. I pride myself on the inclusive nature of my teaching, ensuring that every one of my pupils is supported in both their learning and wellbeing.
Since moving to Dubai in 2022, I have been a Year 4 class teacher at the Aquila School in Wadi Al Safa 5, where I also worked specifically with children who are learning English. I have a passion for musical theatre, drama, and art, and I am extremely excited to move down to Year 1 next year and incorporate all these elements into our learning.
