About Me

Teju Sonuga sat on the board in her previous role as a member of the Safa British School (SBS) Senior leadership team between 2018 and 2021. During this time Teju held the role of Director of Inclusion & Assistant Principal, playing a key role in the schools long term inclusion development. Since this time, Teju has gone on to found The Bridge Learning Center, a center for students of determination with complex learning and developmental challenges; Safa was the first partnership school for The Bridge. This continued collaboration and breadth of experience within Safa, meant that Teju was a clear candidate for a continued seat on the board. From 2021 onwards, Teju’s role on the board continued as an external partner.

My Experience

Teju’s role on the board is to focus on inclusive provision, curriculum development, individual student needs and provision for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Teju regularly collaborates with the SBS leadership team to work towards the ambitious inclusive vision. This includes reviewing services and partnerships in line with governing policy, planning and delivering CPD for specialist staff, student progress audits and identification of trends to feed into action planning. This ongoing collaboration supports SBS to consistently uphold high standards of inclusive care, while benefiting from specialised input in the field of SEND.
