As a PE teacher, the best moments come from seeing the enjoyment and progression of young people during their learning as well as showcasing their skills during fixtures. I have been fortunate enough to build positive relationships with children across whole school activities and I am looking forward to replicating this at SBS over the next year.

About Me

Sport has played a major part in my life since I can remember which is why I chose a career in PE teaching. Predominantly playing football, I have been fortunate enough to play at various levels across the Scottish Professional Football League alongside pursuing my teaching career. My enjoyment for sport and working with young people has shaped my career path and a life dedicated to sport.

With a passion for travelling, I am excited to experience the culture in Dubai as well as enjoy better weather for golf which is hard to come by in Scotland. Alongside playing football, I enjoy keeping active through playing different sports and outdoor activities such as cycling and hill walking.

My Experience

Having left school, I entered full time employment as a football player for Falkirk FC which gave me the insight into what it takes to commit your lifestyle to improving as an athlete. As my journey ended as a full time professional, I studied Sports Coaching at college which developed my skills in coaching and working with young people. This then gave me access to university to study Physical Education teaching for 4 years. From here, I developed my knowledge and understanding of working with children across various age groups and using sport as a vehicle to their learning. Having worked with Glasgow City Council for 1 year as a PE teacher, I have encountered new challenges and enhanced my skills of delivering success to children across the whole school whether it be in their learning or through extra-curricular experiences.
