Like a lot of teachers I love seeing that ‘Aha!’ moment that means a student understands the lesson, but my proudest boast is that I have inspired two former students to also become chemistry teachers. Others have become doctors, engineers, merchant bankers, entrepreneurs and one politician. It will be interesting to see where the future takes students from Safa British School as well!

About Me

love teaching chemistry and I have been in the middle east as a chemistry teacher since 2004- mostly in Kuwait but here in UAE for the last couple of years. I love practical lessons and want to do as many as possible so my students can see how molecules behave in different ways. My engineering background means I want students to understand how things work, and with chemistry I can show them that at the atomic level!

My Experience

I started as a chemical engineer and then got into recruiting engineers for manufacturing companies in and around Birmingham, UK. This was when there was still a car industry in the West Midlands. Then I worked for an industrial water treatment company as a sales engineer. Eventually I stopped rebelling against family tradition and became the third generation of my family to be a teacher! That was over twenty years ago and I have never looked back.
