After studying Economics and Maths at University College Cork, Ireland, I took my passion for Maths further and went on to complete my teaching degree. Here, I fell in love with the classroom and what the wider school life entails. I always wanted to be a teacher and I am still loving it 12 years on. Every day in teaching is different and helping students grow into confident young adults, ready for their next steps, is why I come to school each day with a smile on my face.
Originally from Cork, Ireland, I moved to London to begin my teaching career. London is a fantastic place to live and work, but after a few years I decided I wanted to work in the Middle East. I spent 4 years teaching in Dubai before moving to Yorkshire where my husband is from. However, we always missed our life in Dubai and finally made the decision this year to move back, along with our daughter, ready for the next chapter of our lives.

There are so many special moments! Some of the stand out ones are the faces on my students on results day. Those ‘I told you so’ moments when a student has no confidence in themselves yet succeeds. Overall, I love seeing when students enter in Y7 and watch them flourish through to their GCSEs and beyond, still remaining in touch with many students who went on to achieve wonderful things.
