Laura Anthoney

My name is Laura Anthoney and I am really looking forward to teaching Red class and being Head of Year 4 at SBS next year.

About Me

I am from Nottinghamshire in England however as a child, I spent time living in Hong Kong and Portugal, so I definitely understand what it is like to be an expat from both child and adult perspectives.

I enjoy being active and trying out new activities. I do adult gymnastics classes and love the challenge of learning something new and pushing myself to learn new skills. I also love travelling, playing with my two cats and spending time with my family and friends.

My Experience

I especially love teaching KS2, as I love seeing the children make progress both academically and socially throughout the year. I have a huge passion for ensuring that my students are happy and strongly believe that it is important to make mistakes and learn from them in a positive way!

At university, I studied Exercise and Sport Science, which was very interesting and provided me with lots of unique experiences. Following on from this, I completed my Masters degree in Psychology and that is when I decided to be a teacher. I then completed my PGCE whilst working at an inner-city school, which was a wonderful environment to learn in.
