It is hard to pick just one moment as the best in my teaching career because every day brings its own special moments. However, one memory that really stands out is when I helped a student who was not initially interested in Spanish to decide to study it at university. Seeing them go from not being interested to becoming passionate about the language and culture was incredibly rewarding. It reminded me of the power teachers have to inspire and make a difference in students’ lives.

About Me

Beyond the classroom, I find joy in staying active and pursuing my interests. Golfing is a regular activity for me, offering both relaxation and a bit of challenge on the course. Originally from Liverpool, my love for sports runs deep, especially when it comes to football. While I may not be cheering from the stands at Anfield, I still proudly support my hometown team, Liverpool FC, even from afar here in Dubai, where I currently reside with my family. Traveling is another passion that I enjoy. Exploring new cultures and landscapes fuels my curiosity and broadens my perspective. Whether wandering through the vibrant streets of Caracas, Venezuela, or reconnecting with friends in the city of Barcelona, I cherish the experiences and connections that travel brings.

My Experience

As a dedicated Modern Foreign Languages educator, I am passionate about introducing students to the vibrant world of Spanish language and culture. With firsthand experiences in South America and Barcelona, my journey has been fueled by a deep fascination with Spanish-speaking societies. After earning my Spanish studies degree from the University of Chester and completing my PGCE at Liverpool Hope University, I embarked on a teaching career that has taken me across continents. From classrooms in Spain to schools in the UK and the United Arab Emirates, I have had the privilege of sharing my passion for Spanish with diverse communities. Beyond language proficiency, I strive to instill in my students a genuine appreciation for the richness of Spanish culture. My aim is to inspire curiosity, encouraging student to explore the world and embrace cross-cultural connections.
