Elaine Hoey

My name is Elaine Hoey and I am very excited to be joining the EYFS team for my first year at Safa British School.

About Me

I am from the beautiful west coast of Ireland in a town called Ennis in County Clare.

I have a little girl, called Eabha, who is one year old and a very curious girl already. At the weekends, my family and I love to explore all that Dubai has to offer, including early morning trips to the beach, swimming at the pool and trying new restaurants to eat delicious food!

My Experience

I have been in Dubai for eight years, all of which I have worked across both FS1 and FS2 in my previous school.

After school, I moved to Dublin to begin my university degree in Education. I graduated in 2014 and taught in a number of inner city and disadvantaged schools before deciding to move to Dubai, alongside a group of my friends who I met at university. We are still best friends to this day!

I love being part of the EYFS team as Early Years is a huge passion of mine. My favourite part of seeing children grow and learn is when I get to be involved with the exciting moments they experience as children. I firmly believe children learn best when they are enjoying themselves and feel safe and secure to share their feelings and ideas. Each year I love to build relationships with every family who become members of my class. Having a strong, supportive and communicative relationship between school and home truly facilitates learning to flourish.
