Teaching offers so many different experiences that fill me with joy and inspiration, it is hard to choose just one. One of the most rewarding aspects is witnessing the success of my students – seeing them overcome obstacles, achieve their goals, and grow into confident individuals ready to take on the world. I love the creativity in the classroom and designing lessons that hopefully captivate and inspire young people, I love to see them excited about chemistry and all the opportunities that it can open to them. Seeing students enjoy the subject and those “oh I get it” moments after they have struggled with a concept is so rewarding.

About Me

Beyond teaching, I enjoy various activities. While I enjoy most sports, rugby is my passion. I love traveling with friends, often finding myself drawn back to Italy. During lockdown, I began learning to sew and constructing my own clothes, though I am still a novice and haven’t been brave enough to wear anything I have made! To unwind, I enjoy movies, catching up with friends, and listening to podcasts while walking or on the beach.

My Experience

Born and raised in Ireland, I pursued my degree in Forensics at the Institute of Technology in Sligo before completing my teacher training at Roehampton University in the UK. Starting my teaching career in London in 2011, I later moved to the United States, residing briefly in New York and Maryland before settling in Boston. During my time in Boston, I diversified my experience by transitioning into a role in a biotech company and also working at Tufts University. However, after six fulfilling years, I found myself missing the classroom and teaching students, which led me to decide to move to Prague in 2019 to take up a teaching role there. In 2022, I relocated to Abu Dhabi, where I taught at a private school for two years, before seizing the opportunity to join Safa British School in Dubai. Having heard such wonderful things about Safa, I am eagerly looking forward to meeting the students, staff, and parents and becoming a part of this vibrant community.
