After studying Aeronautical Engineering for 2 years at the University of Limerick in Ireland, I decided to switch my focus to education, obtaining a B.Sc.(Hons) in Education in Physical Science. I was offered my first teaching position at a British International school in Doha, Qatar, where I spent 5 years as a Physics and Chemistry Teacher, & the International Award Coordinator. I moved to Safa in Aug 2022 as a physics teacher and took on the additional role of Head of Year 8.
I was born and raised in Brighton in the UK, but moved to Limerick, Ireland when I was 11, where I lived until 2017. I made the move to Qatar after I graduated form university to start my teaching career, and my Fiancé followed 2 years later. I have a passion for a variety of sports such as football, tennis and golf. I love the outdoors, travel and adventure, which has now led me to Dubai and I am very excited to start this new chapter of my life and career.
B.Sc.(Hons) Education in Physical Sciences
Teaching has been the most rewarding experience of my life and as most teachers would agree, it’s almost impossible to pinpoint THE best moment of my career. However, I will never forget teaching my first class during my school placement in university, teaching a lesson on density, with a group of year 7 students. The wonderment and excitement of young learners is truly an amazing thing, and being able to invoke these feelings in my students has been driving my career since that day.
