Carly Dean

My name is Carly Dean and I am excited to be joining the Safa British School team in August 2023.

I am from a village, just outside of Cambridge in England but moved to Brighton to study Primary Education at University of Brighton. I worked in a small school for two years, before deciding to move to Dubai in 2012.

Since moving to Dubai, I have worked in three different schools, both of an international and local setting. I have 13 years of Key Stage One experience and have a real passion for developing a love of learning in young children. Children in my class are encouraged to problem-solve, take risks and develop their independence. I promote good manners, kindness and thinking of others through being a positive role model for the children in my care. I love making links between subjects and lessons and enjoy planning cross-curricular topics, ensuring lessons are active, engaging and fun!

During my spare time I love hiking and camping (when the weather is cooler), spending time at the swimming pool and also taking photos! I have been lucky enough to visit lots of interesting and unusual countries since living in the UAE. My top three countries I have visited recently are Philippines, Albania and Sri Lanka. I can’t wait to meet you all in August, have a fantastic summer!
