I am passionate about teaching and the relationships that are formed within the classroom. I believe in developing and nurturing a strong relationship with children in a fun, creative atmosphere which provides the perfect learning environment for children to reach their full potential. I love using technology to evolve learning within the classroom as well as beyond the classroom walls and equipping students to step confidently into a digital world.

About Me

I grew up in the West of Ireland in a place called Co. Clare. I graduated from Mary Immaculate College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the English and Irish languages in 2009. In 2010, I completed a Postgraduate diploma in Primary Education.

I am a keen sportsperson and I enjoy watching and playing all types of sports. In my spare time, I enjoy keeping active through running, swimming, hiking and cycling. I take part in many 10km and half marathon races. In November 2021, I completed my first marathon in Abu Dhabi. I also participated in my very first sprint triathlon last year and I hope to take part in another triathlon event very soon!

My Experience

For the past 12+ years, I have had the privilege of teaching most age groups at primary level. For two years, I taught the Irish equivalent to Foundation Stage 2 and lower KS1. I taught in many country and rural schools which gave me an exciting insight into teaching in a multi class situation. I taught in Galway, Ireland and it was there I took an interest in Learning Support, resource and EAL teaching.

Here in Safa British School I have taught in FS1, year 4 and year 5. I have watched as the school has gone from strength to strength over the past few years. Moving from the old site to the beautiful new school has been a highlight for me. During my time here, I have taken part in several PD training courses and have gained a deeper knowledge in all curriculum areas. I love working in such a positive, warm and fulfilling environment. It is an amazing community which I feel very lucky to be a part of.
