My educational philosophy is grounded in positive education with a heavy focus on student wellbeing. In school, I strive to support every student in whatever academic pathway they choose, celebrating successes in terms of attainment and, more importantly, in terms of progress against a student’s starting point.
My wife and I moved to Dubai in 2008 and have enjoyed every minute of working in the international school environment.
Outside of school, I am a keen follower of many sports and enjoy spending time with my young family.
MA Educational Leadership / BSc Mathematics / PGCE in Secondary Education / NPQSL
After graduating with a degree in Mathematics from Loughborough University in 2004 I made the short trip to the University of Nottingham to complete my teacher training a year later. Following this, I taught for three years in a large school in Derbyshire as a teacher of Mathematics with responsibility for enhancing the provision for gifted and talented students. In 2008, I began teaching Mathematics in Dubai at a British curriculum school subsequently taking on roles such as House leader, Head of Mathematics Faculty, Assistant Head and eventually Deputy Headteacher.
With my recent experience as a senior leader and having completed my Masters in Educational Leadership I am looking forward to joining the forward thinking leadership team at SBS.
