My name is Fiona Whooley and I am very excited to be joining Safa British School this August.
Finally, ‘the me you can’t see’. I love living in the Dubai sunshine and in my spare time, I really enjoy playing netball and keeping fit with Kangoo jumps! I am so excited for the year ahead, meeting you all and becoming a member of the Safa British School community
I qualified as a teacher over ten years ago and have been living and teaching in Dubai for the past three years. In 2013, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, with First Class Honours. I then embarked on a trip to Australia where I began working in a primary school in Sydney. I also spent time teaching abroad in Cambodia and Fiji before heading back to teach in my hometown of London. I then spent the next six years working in an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ school, teaching across both key stages 1 and 2. In 2021, I made the move to Dubai from London to continue my teaching journey overseas. Teaching in the UAE has been an amazing experience so far! I love teaching in an inclusive and culturally rich environment where every student feels valued and respected. I pride myself on my ability to connect with the students I teach, celebrating their individuality and uniqueness and personalising an environment where students truly shine and ‘Dream Big’!
