My name is Jennifer Groves and I am very excited to be your Year 1 class teacher. I moved to Dubai in 2023 and I can’t wait to continue my teaching journey at Safa British School.
I am from Newcastle which is in the North East of England. I trained to be a teacher at Northumbria University for 3 years and during my training got to work in so many schools. For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to help children and when I was young, I used to make my younger cousins play “schools” with me.
Outside of the classroom I enjoy keeping fit; swimming is my activity of choice. I love catching up with my friends, facetiming my family back home and exploring everything Dubai has got to offer. I cannot wait to meet you all soon.
I have been teaching for 8 years now. I have spent 6 years teaching in Year 1 and Year 2, and the other two years I spent teaching across FS and KS2. I adore Year 1 with all my heart and get so excited every year to watch the journey the children go on. I can promise a classroom full of smiles and active, hands-on learning.
