I am from a small countryside town in Kilkenny, Ireland. I studied my Bachelor degree at Dublin City University in the capital of Ireland. After completing my degree, I began working in a large multicultural school nearby and spent the past few years there.

About Me

I moved to Dubai in November 2023 with my husband (and our dog). I joined Safa at the beginning of February (2024) and I look forward to extending and developing my career here.

Outside of school, I enjoy running and reading. I also love to travel and spend time exploring new cultures and places.

My Experience

I completed my Bachelor of Education degree in 2020 including a major specialism in Literacy education. I was delighted to be offered a position in a large school where I thoroughly enjoyed my job and gained a vast amount of experience working with different age groups, different abilities, large class sizes, and gaining experience with children who spoke many languages. I’ve had class groups up to the age of 11 and this has given me great experience. I really enjoy teaching the younger classes too and I am delighted to be part of the FS team here at Safa.

In my previous employment I was the leader of a Creative Arts Initiative to develop arts in the school community. I set up a creative committee of students, worked with external artists, and presented findings and projects to our staff and parents. This was a fantastic opportunity and a great success.

I also joined my deputy principal in some extra leadership courses around the area of literacy to develop best practices within our school.

I have held onto all of these experiences and continue to use the knowledge in my teaching now. I am very excited to be working with the children in FS2 and I look forward to getting to meet all of the parents!
